About This Blog

Hello! I’m Holly Setter, a junior from Brown City, MI, at Albion College. I’m an English and Political Science double major who is also pursuing a minor in Journalism and the Ford Institute Concentration in Public Policy and Service.

I just finished up a semester in Washington, D.C., where I completed my internship requirement for Ford and Journalism as a part of The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) Capital Semester on Political Journalism program. In addition to taking three courses through Georgetown University, I worked approximately 30 hours a week at GalleryWatch, an online publication owned by the Roll Call Group that tracks legislation as it moves through Congress.

While out in Washington, this blog will be chronicled all of my experiences in D.C., from being a small town girl in a big city to working as a political journalist.

Now, this blog has followed me back to small-town Michigan where I have taken on three different summer jobs: I’m working as a reporter for the Sanilac County News, covering local city council meetings; I am redesigning and updating The Pleiad’s website; and I am maintaining the Albion College Alumni Office website. All three positions require me to be plugged into the ‘Net, and hence I am exploring the world of summer “net-working.”
