Well, this week was the last week for cheerleading. Our men’s basketball team played their last home game on Wednesday and the women’s played on Thursday. Both teams played great. Earlier in the season, our men’s team actually made it on ESPN’s top ten plays list. During a very close game, a team member actually made a three point shot literally ON THE BUZZER to win the game. The crowd rushed the court, did a dog pile on the player, and then carried him off on their shoulders. It was the type of scene you see at the end of a sports movie. And the shot was actually number six on the top ten list! Moments like that are incredible and I’m so glad that I was court-side to watch it.
And although I am sad that my last season of cheerleading is over, I’m also excited for those who are going to cheer next year. We still have our end-of-the-season party to plan and have and then I think I am going to help with the planning for try-outs for next year. I am really excited for that too.
